The Most Revd Dr Justin Badi Arama

Leadership and Management

Vice Chancellor

Dr Eeva John exercises executive leadership of the university. She has doctorates in Chemistry and Theology from Oxford and Cambridge Universities and has taught chemistry in Addis Ababa and Switzerland, and Theology in seminaries in Oxford, Bristol and Cambridge, UK. She helped to carry out the Feasibility Study for developing an ECSS university in 2011, and, in 2014, founded the UK partnership, ECSSSUP, which works alongside TEU.

Deputy Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff

Revd Canon Dr Joseph Zebedayo Bilal oversees all academic aspects of the life of the University. Since 2013, he has been instrumental in leading the university from being a project to its status as a private university accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. Revd Dr Joseph has a BA and MA in Theology from the University of Bristol and a PhD from the London School of Theology, University of Middlesex.

Dean of the School of Law

Justice James Alala Deng is the founding Dean of the School of Law. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLLB) and a Higher Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Khartoum. He has a Masters of Law from the University of Juba, and a PhD in Law from Al Neelain University in Khartoum. He has lectured in law at various universities in Sudan and South Sudan and is the author of many law books and articles. He works with the Judiciary of South Sudan as a Judge of the Supreme Court of South Sudan.

Dean of the Bishop Gwynne School of Theology

Revd Abraham Maker Akur Kou oversees all the administrative and academic affairs of BGST. He has served the University since 2013 when it was still Bishop Gwynne College, as a librarian, and as a college registrar. When the College became the University’s School of Theology, Revd Abraham was appointed University Chaplain and became Dean two years later. Rev’d Abraham Maker has a first degree from School of Management, University of Juba, a Bachelor of Theology from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Cairo, and a Master of Divinity in Theological Studies, from Africa International University, Kenya. He is currently a PhD candidate in Theology at Uganda Christian University.

Dean of the School of Business and Management

Dr James Mawir Mou oversees all aspects of the School of Business and Management at TEU. He also serves as Assistant Professor at the School of Business and Management, University of Juba. Previously, Dr. Mawir was Head of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Bahr El Ghazal. He has also served in senior positions within the Government of the Republic of South Sudan and international organisations. Dr. Mawir has a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Juba, and an International Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, China and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bahr El Ghazal.

Dean of Student Affairs and Chaplain

Revd Alex Frazer oversees all student affairs at TEU. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from George Whitefield College, South Africa, and a Master's in Theology from Uganda Christian University. He was a student at Bishop Gwynne College from 2014 to 2018. As Chaplain, his role is to provide opportunities to grow the spiritual life of the University through daily and weekly worship, encouraging staff and students to support one another in prayer and pastoral care, and signposting staff and students undergoing trauma and stress to counselling.

Director of Finance

Mrs Ade Mary Samuel oversees the management of all the finances of the University, including ensuring the finances of the University are directed to its strategic plan. She ensures that the University accounts are audited and that accurate financial information is provided for donors and other stakeholders.

Estates Manager

Mr Mawa Moses Felix is responsible to advise and contribute to all projects relating to construction and physical infratsructure improvements on the Juba campus and in the Rokon site of the University.

Director of Human Resources

Mrs Esparansa Emil is responsible for implementing the University’s Human Resources Policy and all matters related to the remuneration, contractual obligations and wellbeing of TEU staff.
