Students, faculty members, and invited guests gathered this week at The Episcopal University South Sudan for the institution’s Annual Cultural and Academic Festival, a colorful event celebrating diversity, education, and community engagement.

The festival featured cultural dances, poetry performances, academic exhibitions, music presentations, debates, and student innovation showcases representing different regions and communities across South Sudan.

University administrators described the event as an opportunity to promote unity, leadership, and creativity among students while preserving the country’s rich cultural heritage.

“The festival brings together students from diverse backgrounds and encourages collaboration, peace, and mutual understanding,” said a faculty representative during the opening ceremony.

One of the highlights of the event was the student innovation exhibition, where learners presented community-focused projects addressing agriculture, education, environmental sustainability, and public health challenges.

The celebration also included awards for outstanding academic performance, leadership, and community service. Several students were recognized for their contributions to volunteer initiatives and peer mentorship programs throughout the academic year.

Attendees praised the festival for creating a vibrant atmosphere that strengthened student relationships and encouraged active participation in university life.

The university announced that the Cultural and Academic Festival will continue to be held annually as part of its commitment to holistic education and student development.
