Our students' spiritual life
TEU is a Christian university which welcomes students of all faiths and none. Its Christian identity is manifested through its Christian values and ethos, and through its vibrant life of prayer and worship in which all staff and students are invited participate.
At the Bishop Gwynne Campus in Juba every week students and staff gather
- for daily morning worship which will follow the Episcopal Church of South Sudan Anglican liturgy for Morning Prayer and Holy Communion, as appropriate.
- for community worship once a week: this is a more informal time of worship during a time of day when all students are able to join in.
- in small groups of students and staff called Growth Groups for Bible study, prayer, discussion and mutual pastoral care.
Everyone in the University community is welcome and encouraged to participate in these communal times of Christian worship and ministry. It is a time for praising and giving thanks to God, for confessing our shortcomings, and for bringing our needs and concerns to God in prayer.
Students are encouraged to volunteer to join the student choir, lead prayers and read Scripture at these times of worship.
